5.2 Billing and Recurring Charges
- Paid Subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual recurring basis, as selected by you at the time of enrollment, and are processed through Stripe.
- By enrolling in a paid Subscription, you expressly authorize Summer Slice LLC (via Stripe) to charge your designated payment method on each billing cycle until you cancel your Subscription.
- You are responsible for maintaining current, valid, and accepted payment information on file. Failed payment transactions may result in the suspension or downgrade of premium features and access.
- All prices are stated in United States dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated, and are exclusive of applicable taxes, duties, and levies, which you are responsible for paying.
5.3 One-Time Purchases
- Certain features, including the Islamic Estate Will Document generation, may be available as one-time purchases processed through Stripe.
- One-time purchases are non-recurring and grant permanent access to the purchased feature for the specific estate plan or item for which payment was made.
5.4 Cancellation
- You may cancel your Subscription at any time through your account settings. No further charges will be incurred after cancellation takes effect.
- Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features through the end of your then-current billing period.
- After the billing period expires, your account will automatically revert to the Free tier. Your data will be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy, but access to premium features will be restricted.

For existing paid subscribers, price changes will take effect at the start of the next billing cycle following the date of the price change notice. If you do not agree to the new pricing, you may cancel your Subscription before the next billing cycle. 6. User Representations and Warranties
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- All registration information and User Content you submit is truthful, accurate, current, and complete.
- You have the legal right, authority, and capacity to enter into these Terms and to comply with all of their provisions.
- You will use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- You have obtained all necessary consents, authorizations, and permissions from any third parties whose information you submit to the Service, including household members, estate plan beneficiaries, and spouses.
- You will not use the Service to infringe, misappropriate, or violate the Intellectual Property Rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any third party.
- You are not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
7. No Fiduciary, Advisory, or Professional Relationship
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. SUMMER SLICE LLC IS NOT A FINANCIAL INSTITUTION, INVESTMENT ADVISOR, BROKER-DEALER, TAX ADVISOR, ESTATE PLANNING ATTORNEY, LAW FIRM, ACCOUNTING FIRM, OR RELIGIOUS AUTHORITY. NO FIDUCIARY, ADVISORY, AGENCY, OR PROFESSIONAL-CLIENT RELATIONSHIP IS CREATED BETWEEN YOU AND SUMMER SLICE LLC BY VIRTUE OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Nothing in the Service constitutes, and nothing in the Service should be construed as, financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or a religious ruling (fatwa). The Service provides informational tools and educational content to assist you in your own independent analysis and decision-making. You are solely responsible for obtaining independent professional advice from qualified professionals — including licensed financial advisors, certified public accountants, estate planning attorneys, and qualified Islamic scholars — as appropriate for your specific circumstances, needs, and objectives.
8. Financial Data Integrations
- If you connect financial accounts through the Service, you expressly authorize us and our integration partners (including Plaid, Inc.) to access, retrieve, and process financial data from your designated accounts on your behalf as necessary to provide the Service.
- Your use of Plaid is subject to Plaid's terms of service and end user privacy policy. You acknowledge and agree that Plaid's terms apply to your use of Plaid's services, in addition to these Terms.
- We are not responsible for, and make no representations or warranties regarding, the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of data provided by third-party financial institutions or data aggregation providers. Account balances and investment holdings are reported by your financial institutions through Plaid and may be subject to processing delays, outages, or inaccuracies.
- You may disconnect any linked financial account at any time through your account settings. Disconnection will immediately cease the synchronization of new data from that account; however, previously synchronized data will remain in your account unless and until you affirmatively delete it.
9. Zakat Calculations and Islamic Finance Tools
- The zakat calculator provides informational tools only designed to assist you with zakat estimation. All calculations are based on algorithmic implementations of rulings derived from various Islamic schools of thought and the data you provide. These calculations may not perfectly reflect the positions, methodologies, or rulings of your specific scholar, institution, or advisory board.
- Nisab thresholds displayed in the Service are derived from live or recent gold and silver market prices obtained from third-party data sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of precious metal pricing data. Market prices fluctuate continuously, and the nisab values displayed may not reflect real-time prices at the time of your calculation.
- The Service is not, and shall not be construed as, a substitute for consultation with a qualified Islamic scholar regarding your specific zakat obligations. You are solely responsible for verifying all calculations and determining the correct amount of zakat due based on your individual circumstances.
- The Halal Stock Checker and Nisab Checker public tools are provided for informational purposes only and carry the same disclaimers and limitations as all other features of the Service.
10. Investment Screening (RizqInvests)
The investment screening feature uses the RizqInvests database to assess the Shariah compliance status of securities. By using this feature, you expressly acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Screening results are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute investment advice, a fatwa, a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, or a guarantee of Shariah compliance.
- Screening criteria and methodologies employed by the RizqInvests database may differ materially from those used by your personal Islamic scholar, Shariah advisory board, or religious institution. You should consult qualified scholars for guidance specific to your situation, beliefs, and school of thought.
- Screening data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Not all securities can be screened. Securities classified as "Not Screened" may include bonds, options, recently listed securities, exchange-traded products, or securities not covered by the screening database.
- Compliance statuses are dynamic and may change at any time without notice as underlying company data, financial ratios, and screening criteria are updated. A screening result is valid only as of the date it was generated.
- We make no guarantees, representations, or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of screening data or results.
- Summer Slice LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any investment decisions, financial losses, or other consequences arising from your reliance on screening results.
11. Estate Planning and Will Documents
The estate planning feature provides tools to calculate Islamic inheritance (Faraid) shares and generate will document templates. By using this feature, you expressly acknowledge and agree to the following:
11.1 Not Legal Advice
- The estate planning tools and generated will documents are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice, and their provision does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Summer Slice LLC.
- Generated will documents are templates that must be reviewed, customized, and validated by a qualified estate planning attorney licensed in your jurisdiction before being executed, witnessed, notarized, or otherwise relied upon as legal instruments.
- Summer Slice LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Faraid calculations are based on algorithmic interpretations of Islamic inheritance law and may not account for all jurisdictional requirements, statutory limitations, community property rules, edge cases, or scholarly differences of opinion.
11.2 Not Religious Rulings
- The Faraid calculator does not issue fatwas, religious rulings, or binding religious opinions. Inheritance share calculations are algorithmic approximations intended as a starting point for your own analysis. You should consult a qualified Islamic scholar for rulings specific to your family situation, sect, and school of thought.
11.3 Will Document Purchase
- The will document generation feature is a one-time paid feature. Payment grants access to the prepared document template for the specific estate plan for which payment was made.
- You are solely and exclusively responsible for ensuring that any prepared document complies with all applicable laws of your jurisdiction and accurately reflects your testamentary wishes.
- Summer Slice LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any legal, financial, personal, or other consequences arising from the use, execution, or reliance on generated will document templates.
11.4 Beneficiary and Third-Party Data
- You represent and warrant that you have obtained the informed consent or possess the legal authority to provide personal information (names, relationships, email addresses, gender) for any beneficiaries, heirs, spouses, or other persons you add to an estate plan.
- If you utilize Joint Planning Mode, you represent and warrant that your spouse has consented to the inclusion and processing of their personal information within the estate plan.
12. AI-Powered Financial Assistant ("Barakah")
Subscribers to the All-Access plan may access Barakah, an AI-powered Islamic finance educational assistant. By using Barakah, you expressly acknowledge and agree to the following:
12.1 Educational Use Only
- Barakah provides general educational information only. It does not provide, and shall not be construed as providing, financial advice, legal advice, tax advice, investment advice, accounting advice, or religious rulings.
- AI-generated responses may contain factual errors, inaccuracies, hallucinations, outdated information, or omissions. You must independently verify any information provided by Barakah before acting on it or relying on it for any purpose.
- Barakah does not issue fatwas, religious rulings, or personalized financial recommendations. You must always consult qualified Islamic scholars and licensed professional advisors for decisions specific to your situation.
- We make no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose.
12.2 Data and Privacy
- By default, Barakah does not access or transmit your personal or financial data to the AI model provider. General conversations rely solely on the AI model's training knowledge.
- You may optionally enable "Use My Data" mode, which transmits an anonymized, aggregated financial summary (containing no personally identifiable information) to the AI model for more contextualized educational guidance.
- No personally identifiable information — including your name, email address, account numbers, financial institution details, or login credentials — is transmitted to the AI model provider at any time.
- Conversations are processed by OpenAI, L.L.C. via their API. OpenAI's data handling and retention policies apply to the processing of prompts and responses. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
12.3 Limitation of Liability for AI Content
- You agree that Summer Slice LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any decisions, actions, losses, damages, or other consequences resulting from your use of, or reliance on, Barakah's responses or any AI-generated content.
- You assume full and sole responsibility for evaluating and verifying AI-generated information and for any financial, legal, religious, or personal decisions you make based on such information.
12.4 Acceptable Use of Barakah
- You agree not to use Barakah to generate content that is harmful, misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- You agree not to attempt to extract system prompts, reverse-engineer the assistant's internal guidelines or safety mechanisms, or use prompt injection techniques to circumvent the assistant's intended scope of operation.
13. Household Mode
- Household Mode allows you to track zakat obligations for multiple family members under a single account, subject to the member limits of your Subscription tier.
- You represent and warrant that you have the informed consent or legal authority (e.g., legal guardianship, power of attorney, or parental authority) to enter financial data on behalf of each household member you add to the Service.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and security of data you enter on behalf of household members. Summer Slice LLC shall not be liable for any disputes, claims, or liabilities arising from the use of Household Mode or the submission of third-party data.
14. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree that you will not, and will not permit any third party to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or unauthorized purpose.

By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy, including the use of cookies, third-party integrations, international data transfers, and information sharing as set forth therein.

25. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY TRIAL.
25.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us and providing a written description of the dispute, including the nature of the claim and the specific relief sought. We will attempt to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation within sixty (60) days of receipt of your written notice.
25.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or the Service, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be determined by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, except as modified by these Terms. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator, in the English language, and at a location determined by the AAA rules. Judgment on the arbitration award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
25.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND SUMMER SLICE LLC AGREE THAT ANY ARBITRATION OR COURT PROCEEDING SHALL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, REPRESENTATIVE, OR COLLECTIVE ACTION. YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, CLASS ARBITRATION, OR ANY OTHER REPRESENTATIVE OR COLLECTIVE PROCEEDING. IF A COURT OR ARBITRATOR DETERMINES THAT THIS CLASS ACTION WAIVER IS UNENFORCEABLE, THEN THE ENTIRETY OF THIS ARBITRATION PROVISION SHALL BE NULL AND VOID, AND THE DISPUTE SHALL PROCEED IN COURT.

TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AND SUMMER SLICE LLC EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL IN ANY LITIGATION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.
25.5 Governing Law
These Terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State in which Summer Slice LLC is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where preempted by federal law. Mandatory consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction of residence may also apply to the extent they cannot be waived by agreement.
25.6 Exceptions to Arbitration
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may: (a) seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving Intellectual Property Rights, unauthorized access, or other urgent matters where interim relief is necessary to prevent irreparable harm; and (b) bring claims in small claims court if all requirements of that court are satisfied and the claim is within the court's jurisdictional limits. Claims that do not exceed the small claims court jurisdictional limit are exempt from the arbitration requirement.
25.7 Statute of Limitations
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any claim or cause of action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service must be filed within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arose; otherwise, such claim or cause of action shall be permanently barred. This limitation period does not apply to claims where a longer limitation period is required by applicable mandatory law.
